After quite the spring, with a number of impactful storms, we have been working to set the last day of school.  Widespread power outages during the storms limited our ability to use remote sNOw School days to manage the last day of school.  Facing a number of days to makeup, we analyzed our instructional minutes and consulted with the Department of Education, and are able to forgo making up the last two canceled school days and still meet our legal requirements. Barring any significant unforeseen circumstances between now and June, this means that the last student day for John Stark, Henniker, and Weare is Wednesday, June 19.  This will be an early dismissal day.  

Looking to next year and in response to both the need for additional instructional time and the community’s desire for a predictable end of school, we are extending the student day in Henniker and Weare.  Adding time to each school day will allow us to set a firm date for the last day of school that we will not go past. Specifically, the last day of school for the 24-25 school year is June 17 and we can say affirmatively that we will not go past June 19 regardless of how many snow days we actually have.
